Lodi Matsetela, as a guest of Pro-Helvetia, is attending Ars Electronica in her capacity as Programme Manager for Fak’ugesi as well as Digital Lab Africa. Lodi’s reputation as an exceptional producer with an untouchable track record precedes her, highlighted by her award-winning work across genres and record-breaking ratings on prestigious networks like Al Jazeera and international film festivals such as IDFA and Tiff. Her commitment extends to impactful community-building initiatives that seek to decrease the inequalities experienced by youth in South Africa and across the continent. One such initiative is DIGITAL LAB AFRICA,a bootcamp and acceleration incubation programme that brings together expertise in Digital Arts, Music, Animation, Gaming and XR to facilitate masterclasses, tutorials, and industry conversations for digital creatives that would otherwise not have access to such information and resources. Lodi has returned to her roots in screenwriting working as a lecturer when not and facilitating innovative narrative workshops in the digital sector from gaming to XR, and animation. Her objectives in Switzerland and Austria by extension are to find and forge partnerships that transcend traditional boundaries and engage on the subject of content creation in the age of Ai - and believe in the necessary intervention of incubations, learnerships and non-academic training.
