Kwasi Darko is a Ghanaian photographer and multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in Accra. With a B.A in Political Science and Theater Arts, He is interested in personal local stories told through long term research, digital technologies and design. His practice investigates the nuanced lines and intersections between contemporary individual lives/identities and traditional communal obligations and roles especially within African conditions. Within this practice, he gravitates towards lives that move through these spaces in a non-normative expression of self and thoughts. He has worked and exhibited within many spaces including the Dakar Biennale, World Press Photo, PhotoVogue, Nubuke Foundation, Ano Ghana and the Prince Claus Fund. He has also shown work in various local and international museums including the TropenMuseum, Museum Ostwall and the Opoku Ware Museum. He is currently setting up the creative work space “Ka-Ne Studios” in Accra to create visual productions and digital interventions at the intersection of art, technology and design.
