Madeleine Lambert is a creative industries researcher, manager and facilitator, and a certified leadership and performance coach. She is currently the Research Director at Andani.Africa, a creative industries research, insights and strategic advisory company. Prior to this, Lambert was the Research Manager at Business and Arts South Africa NPC. She co-founded South African creative non-profit Flying House Design, where she remains a Director and consultant.
Lambert’s main expertise lies in research, monitoring and evaluation, arts administration, coaching, mentorship, facilitation and curriculum development. She also has experience in arts and culture project and event management, programme development, grant management, governance programmes, financial administration, fundraising, marketing, market research, strategic planning, database management, and copy writing and editing, as well as theatre, music, design and craft. She lectured in arts management at the Wits School of Arts, which also involved curriculum development and overseeing student traineeships, and consulted in a research, administration and curriculum development capacity for University of Johannesburg Arts and Culture.
Lambert holds a Masters Degree in Arts and Culture Management (with distinction) and an Honours equivalent Bachelor of Arts in Dramatic Arts from Wits University (majoring in arts management and design), and she is an Associate of the Trinity College of London in musical theatre. She was a National Research Foundation Scholar and Intern, and is an alumnus of the Common Purpose Africa Venture leadership programme and of multiple Leadership Academy South Africa and Wildflower Transformation Coaching programmes.
