Njogu Macharia

Based in Nairobi, Kenya, J. Njogu Macharia is the creator of 2-D animated series ‘Boy Boi.’ He is a professional writer focused on telling stories about and for African people. He was a co-writer on the animated short film ‘The Legend of Lwanda Magere' which won the 'Best International Short’ at the 2020 Los Angeles Animation Festival. He has worked in the writers’ room for the animated show 'Twende' and he has directed multiple short films including ‘Awake' which was screened at the 'Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival.
