Steven Markovitz

Steven co-founded Electric South with Ingrid Kopp. They have executed numerous XR labs and executive produced XR projects that screened at festivals including Sundance, Venice, Tribeca, Sheffield and IDFA. They are involved in research and policy development in the field. As a film producer he has worked with directors from 30 African countries on films that screened at festivals including Cannes, Sundance, Berlin, Toronto and Venice and sold worldwide. Steven is a member of the Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Sciences. He has been knighted twice for his contribution to African cinema – by the French and Burkina Faso governments.
